“The Ins and Outs of Managing a Group Practice…and Working in One”

“There is nothing we can do or say that has a bigger impact than the relationship”

This, the wisdom from Natalie Katz,MPH,RD - our June speaker and owner of Feeding Your Soul Nutrition.

Her talk, “The Ins and Outs of Managing a Group Practice...and Working in One" cleared up the misconceptions we had and inspired all to dig deep to find their place in our provider system. We learned of the frustrations and benefits unique to group practice work. Natalie derives satisfaction from the opportunity to mentor several RDs, and to manage care for large numbers of clients who need a safe space to recover from disordered eating. Group practice is a duality- at times frustrating, mostly rewarding, but always fluctuating, involving endless daily decisions. Natalie takes leadership seriously, including the responsibility of employing other RDs in a fair and ethical manner. Her success lies in the felt obligation to provide training and team building, vital to the transition for RDs from the residential setting to outpatient, a different kind of clinical work.
