Janet Goldstein-Ball

After working in the entertainment industry for a number of years, Janet returned to school and received her Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from California State University Northridge.

Janet currently enjoys working with all populations at her private practice in the Burbank/Toluca Lake area, but her special interests are eating disorders, addiction, adolescents and creative professionals. In addition to her private practice, she also works as the Eating Disorder Case Manager in the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. Janet’s past experience and training includes working at eating disorder treatment programs, seeing clients at community clinics, and counseling adolescents at a school for students with severe emotional disorders and learning disabilities.

Due to her tenure in show business, Janet has unique insight into issues specific to the creative community. In addition, as a long-time resident of Los Angeles, she is familiar with the challenges and stresses of living in Southern California that can affect our relationships and our mental health.

Janet is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists) and GPALA (Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles). She has served on the board of the San Fernando Valley chapter of CAMFT and served as editor of their on-line newsletter. In addition, she is one of the founders and of on the board of VFED.
